Ezkabarteko armarriak tinbrean duen EGUZKIak Euskal Herriko sinesmen zaharretan babes eta mito konnotazioak ditu eta orain dela oso gutxi arte SAKRATU, SANTU eta BEDEINKATUtzat hartu da eta emakumezkoaren generoa eman zaio. Gure herrietako anitzetan AMANDREA esaten zitzaion EGUZKIari agurtzen zitzaionean.<\/p>\n

Haren sarrera iritsi eta horizontean ezkutatzean, mendien atzean, bere ama ANDRA MARIren besoetan babestera zihoala uste zuten; azken horrek MARI numena ere izendatzen du, pertsonifikaturiko lurra besteak beste.<\/p>\n

EGUZKIri, bestalde, espiritu maltzurren aurkako botereak egozten zizkioten eta haiek uxatzeko eraginkorra zen; sorginak, aztiak eta jeinu gaiztoak botererik gabe geratzen ziren EGUZKIren argi izpi batek ezustean harrapatzen zituenean eta laster joan behar zuten beren haitzuloetara.<\/p>\n

Hemen eguzki ikur nagusia EGUZKI LORE da (Carlina acanthofolia) eta gaur egun arte iraun duen haren erabilera mitologiko folklorikoak mendetan zehar iraun du, babesle, kristautasun aurretik gure arbasoek Eguzkiari egiten zioten gurtzaren oroigarri, zein oraindik ere ikus baitezakegu Ezkabarteko etxe askotan ate, leiho eta balkoietan iltzaturik.<\/p>\n
